Job description

Aircraft Mechanic - King Air

The Aircraft Mechanic I/Crewmember coordinates with other crewmembers to assess each aircraft part. They plan and perform servicing duties on aircraft. Crewmembers should meet AR 95-20 qualifications and participate in Hazardous Flight duties.

Essential Functions:
  1. Services, repairs, and overhauls aircraft and engines to ensure airworthiness.
  2. Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures (wings, fuselage) and functional components (rigging, surface controls, plumbing, hydraulics) using hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
  3. Reads and interprets maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and specifications to determine repair methods.
  4. Performs miscellaneous servicing duties including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens, greasing parts, and checking brakes.
  5. May require FAA licensing.
  6. Serves engines and airframe components at line stations, making repairs to keep aircraft in safe condition.
  7. Must qualify to perform Hazardous Flight duties as Crewmembers/Non-Crewmembers.
  8. Meets qualifications outlined in AR 95-20.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical or Military School Training preferred.
Experience:
  • Two years of direct aircraft maintenance experience or Military technical school with an Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License required.
