Job summary

Global Logistics Support Services has an immediate opening for Aircraft Mechanic III Ordnance/Egress to join our team at NAS JRB, Fort Worth, TX. These mechanics perform ordnance handling and egress maintenance with supervision and guidance on airframe systems.

Requires CDI/QASO certifications and a Secret clearance, with 5+ years of fighter jet maintenance experience, preferably on F-18E/F aircraft. Maintains logs and supports engineering and customers as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Active DOW Secret Security Clearance.
• Five or more years of experience maintaining fighter jet aircraft at the organizational, intermediate or depot level.
• Five or more years of experience maintaining F-18E/F aircraft is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
• Maintains and repairs aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
• Applies knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to diagnose malfunctions and restore equipment condition.
• Provides guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians during modifications and maintenance.
• Keeps detailed entries in aircraft logs and records.
• Provides technical support to engineers and customers as needed.

Global Logistics Support Services, (GLSS), an S3 Inc. company, has an immediate opening for Aircraft Mechanic III Ordnance/Egress to join our team at NAS JRB, Forth Worth, TX.

These Aircraft Mechanics are responsible for performing and documenting ordnance handling and egress maintenance actions. Requires CDI/QASO certifications. Applies technical experience to supervise subordinate mechanics and provide technical guidance on maintenance operations on the airframe being supported. Capable of performing, supervising and inspecting the duties of Mechanic Is, IIs and IIIs.

Responsibilities

• A person in this position maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
• Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
• Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
• This worker also applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
• Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.
• A thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
• A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required.
• Must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike, must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
• This worker will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
• Responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of Navy Aircraft Ordnance (AO) or Egress/Maintenance (PR) Program highly desirable.
• An active DOW Secret Security Clearance.
• Five or more years of experience maintaining fighter jet aircraft at the organizational, intermediate or depot level.
• Five or more years of experience maintaining F-18E/F aircraft is highly desirable.
• Five or more years of experience as a Navy Aircraft Ordnance (AO) or Egress/Maintenance (PR) Skill Set is highly desirable.
