Description

An Aircraft Mechanic III performs repairs, modifications, and installations on C-12 aircraft. The role requires the ability to troubleshoot, rig, and operationally check/test engines: P&W PT6A-41, PT6A-42, PT6A-60, PT6A-65 turbo props. Operates ground support equipment and flight line vehicles. Must be able to read, write, and interpret instructions, technical manuals, and/or directives necessary for the accomplishment of job assignments. Proficiency in sheet metal repairs is essential.

The Aircraft Mechanic III reports directly to the ACI Supervisors and/or Maintenance Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

The primary functions of an Aircraft Mechanic III, which can be performed without direct supervision, include:

  1. Performing tasks as assigned/directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Site Manager using applicable technical data, manuals, and directives.
  2. Evaluating aircraft discrepancies to identify proper repair methods and necessary parts, materials, and tooling requirements.
  3. Utilizing manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, Maintenance Engineering Directives, schematics, drawings, blueprints, charts, and other applicable publications for installation, testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring aircraft modifications are accomplished promptly.
  4. Inspecting for corrosion, treating and repairing discrepancies, performing touch-up painting, and applying decals and labels.
  5. Removing and replacing engines, accomplishing engine rigging, and testing.
  6. Complying with and following established standards of workmanship, safety, quality, and production.
Work Experience
  • Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license required.
  • 5+ years C-12 (A200/B200/B300/1900) experience.
  • 5+ years Pratt & Whitney turbo prop engine experience (PT6A-41, PT6A-42, PT6A-60, PT6A-65).
  • 5+ years’ experience of Airframe, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Educational Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
