Adams Communications & Engineering Technology (ACET), Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic II - Structures in Goldsboro, NC to perform moderate-to-complex maintenance on airframes and sheet metal components.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting airframe and powerplant systems with a focus on structural integrity and precision workmanship. As a Tier II mechanic, you will prioritize workloads, provide data for engineering changes, and may lead maintenance teams while maintaining inspection

Qualifications

• DoD Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance and structural sheet metal repair.
• Ability to read and apply technical publications, blueprints, and manufacturer manuals.
• Experience guiding junior technicians through workflows and timelines.
• Basic electrical knowledge or avionics understanding is valuable for cross-functional support.

Responsibilities

The Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Mechanic II - Structures to perform moderate-to-complex structural maintenance, repairs, and modifications to ensure mission fleet readiness.

In this role, you will apply comprehensive technical expertise to troubleshoot airframe and powerplant systems, with a specialized focus on sheet metal and aircraft structures.

As a Tier II Mechanic, you will be expected to prioritize workloads to meet strict operational schedules, provide technical data inputs for engineering changes, and occasionally lead maintenance teams through complex, mission-critical tasks. You will also hold inspection authority over Mechanic I and II peers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and modify complex aircraft structures, sheet metal configurations, and structural components of moderate difficulty.
• Apply technical knowledge to diagnose malfunctions and restore airframe and powerplant systems, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
• Actively contribute technical data for Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC) and Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD) reports, and assist in recommending changes to Modification Work Orders (MWO).
• Prioritize project workloads, lead maintenance teams through complex tasks, and exercise authority to inspect and sign off on work performed by Mechanic I and II team members.
• Solve moderate-to-complex technical issues by interpreting and applying engineering blueprints, technical publications, aircraft logs, and manufacturer manuals.
• Safely and accurately operate specialized aircraft tools and precision instruments, including test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears.
• Apply basic electrical theory and proper structural techniques to ensure all modifications comply with strict aviation safety regulations and military/commercial standards.

Qualifications:

• Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance to access the airfield and military installation.
• Combined experience in general mechanical maintenance, structural sheet metal repair, and complex aircraft troubleshooting.
• Advanced working knowledge of technical publications, manufacturer manuals, blueprints, and the ability to accurately complete entries in aircraft logs and records.
• Demonstrated expertise using sheet metal shop equipment (shears, brakes) and precision diagnostic tools (micrometers, dial indicators).
• Proven ability to manage project timelines, prioritize shifting workloads, and guide junior technicians through demanding maintenance workflows.
• While structured primarily around sheet metal and airframe repair, basic knowledge of electrical theory or avionics is highly valued for cross-functional support.
