Aircraft Mechanic II/ATR Crew Chief, (DEA Program) - Fort Worth, Texas

Join V2X Inc as an Aircraft Mechanic II/ATR Crew Chief, (DEA Program) - Fort Worth, Texas.

The Aircraft Mechanic II/ATR Crew Chief reports to the Lead Mechanic and performs duties as assigned. The role requires independent judgment and the ability to supervise a crew of aircraft mechanics. Work is carried out with minimal supervision, consulting with the supervisor only for initial assignments or departures from standard practices.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating with customers on flight schedules and maintenance status.
  • Performing routine, preventive, and scheduled maintenance and repairs as required by OEM and FAA standards.
  • Troubleshooting system malfunctions and implementing corrective actions.
  • Contacting OEM, technical representatives, and suppliers for technical assistance.
  • Documenting maintenance activities accurately in forms, records, and Logbooks.
  • Adhering to all safety and environmental regulations and guidelines.
  • Traveling as required to support ATR Aircraft as Crew Chief.
  • Reconfiguring aircraft cargo/passenger layouts as needed.
  • Cleaning aircraft and servicing lavatories.
  • Refueling aircraft.
  • Loading, securing, and unloading cargo.
  • Performing additional duties as outlined in the DEA Aviation Operations Manual.

Education and Experience:

  • Valid Airframe & Powerplant certificate.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a fixed-wing aircraft mechanic, including two (2) recent years working on ATR 42 or similar aircraft and King Air models.
  • Demonstrated recent experience within the last twelve (12) months.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Possession of personal hand tools prior to starting.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and procedures.
  • Ability to determine work methods to accomplish tasks efficiently.
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Valid driver’s license, US Passport, and necessary vaccinations for international travel.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly, working primarily in an aircraft hangar environment and occasionally outdoors in various weather conditions.

Work Environment:

Inside hangar with good ventilation; outdoor exposure to environmental conditions; use of PPE required to mitigate hazards.
