Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic II Armament / Avionics (AH) (SCA 23022)

Location: Fort Cavazos

Job Type: Full Time

General Description:

The role involves conducting both Field and Sustainment level maintenance tasks on AH-64 series aircraft, focusing on avionics, electrical, instrument, and armament systems and subsystems. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, modifying, and repairing intricate electronic equipment. Work will be carried out in specialized workshops dedicated to Field and Sustainment level maintenance and fixed base operations. Additionally, the position requires performing diagnostic troubleshooting and maintenance repairs directly on the flight line to meet customer needs.

Job requirements:

Loads munitions and explosive and propellant devices on aircraft and inspects, maintains, installs, modifies, and repairs aircraft bomb, rocket, and missile release, launch, suspension, and monitor systems; guns and gun mounts; and related munitions handling, loading, and test equipment under the technical direction of an Armament Mechanic, Armament Mechanic (Senior) or Lead. Examines for visual defects and proper installation of systems components, such as munitions ejector racks, loading and suspension devices, shackles, rocket pods, pylons, aircraft ammunition and feed chutes. Analyzes malfunctions of munitions launch, release, suspension, and monitor systems, and associated equipment. Required to perform assigned tasks within your work center that directly supports necessary functions of this job classification.

  • Uphold stringent documentation standards, ensuring comprehensive and updated aircraft maintenance records.
  • Adhere diligently to organizational policies and procedures, maintaining a compliant and efficient workspace.
  • Effectively prioritize workload, ensuring organized and timely completion of assigned projects

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience in aircraft maintenance within the last six (6) years on assigned airframe.
  • Proficiency in Aircraft Notebook (ACN).
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.

Skills & Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair.
  • A foundational understanding of electrical theory.
  • Extensive familiarity with specialized aircraft tools, including but not limited to, test equipment, torque wrenches, and dial indicators.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain clearance required for base access (NAC-I T1).

Physical Demand:

  • Candidates may be subjected to pre-employment physicals pertinent to the role, such as operating Ground Support Equipment and wearing personal respirators.
  • Candidates may be subjected to pre-employment drug screening.

Note:

  • Travel may be a requisite for this role, and candidates will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • May be required to work night/evening shifts.
