Job description

Akima Technical Solutions (ATS) is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic I at Pope Army Airfield, NC. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!

Responsibilities
  • This mechanic maintains and repairs aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine malfunctions and restore equipment condition. Uses technical documentation such as blueprints and manufacturer's manuals to solve moderate to complex problems.
  • Applies comprehensive technical expertise to interpret schematics, technical documentation, and manufacturer's manuals. Prioritizes workload to meet flight schedules and collaborates with higher leadership when necessary.
  • Possesses excellent organizational skills and can prioritize tasks to meet aircraft delivery schedules.
Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical troubleshooting, repair procedures, and parts replacement. Broad understanding of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repairs.
  • Basic electrical theory knowledge and familiarity with aircraft-specific tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers.
  • Ability to work with technical publications and follow guidance from supervisors and senior technicians. Occasionally makes entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet flight schedules and coordinate with leadership.
  • Valid State driver's license.
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain and hold Secret Clearance.
  • Strong leadership, written, and verbal communication skills.
