Job description

ATS is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic I to work in Fort Campbell, KY. The Aircraft Mechanic I maintains and troubleshoots SOATB MH-6 aircraft. Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on landing gear, flight controls, powerplant, powertrain, prop and rotor systems, hydraulic/pneumatic, and other mechanical aspects of the aircraft. Responsibilities

  • Candidate will be required to repair and replace aircraft components, troubleshoot faults, rig flight controls, adjust rotor system track and balance, and complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as required to support flight operations both at home station and on TDY trips. Will perform maintenance as instructed in service guidance and local policies and procedures.

  • Must be able to use hand tools, special tools, calibrated tools, and specialized test kits to maintain and trouble-shoot aircraft systems.

  • Must be able to read schematics, interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and methods of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

  • This mechanic must be able to work independently at home station and while TDY at remote locations.

  • This mechanic must be able to perform administrative actions when it comes to aircraft forms and records on systems being utilized by the organization such as ACN, Hydra, GCSS-Army, and other software platforms.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

  • 6 years’ experience in rotary wing aviation. A/MH-6M experience is desired.

  • Must be able to travel 1-2 weeks at a time/complete TDY assignments way from home station.

  • Must be willing to work second shift as required during assigned rotation.

  • Must have experience with ACN or other electronic logbook system.

  • Must have own tools/toolbox.

  • Must be able to pass a basic physical for ground handling of aircraft and other aviation related tasks.
