Summary

The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for maintenance actions on Airborne Tactical Advantage Company’s aircraft as well as the safe and expeditious launch and recovery flight line operations at permanent and detachment sites.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Maintenance efforts in support of company commitments
  2. Proficient in one type/model aircraft and helper on additional type/model aircraft
  3. Training of maintenance personnel
  4. Manage assigned maintenance programs
  5. Assist with coordination of detachment requirements with Crew Chiefs (as necessary)
  6. Obtain and maintain Detachment Lead qualification
  7. Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls
  8. Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls
  9. Perform 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections
  10. Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories; perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections
  11. Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturers’ manuals
  12. Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects
  13. Additional responsibilities as delineated by Production Supervisor and Crew Chiefs
  14. Manage programs as assigned
  15. Travel up to 40%
Qualifications
  1. Minimum requirements of this position include, but are not limited to, an A&P certification or at least 5 years of military aircraft maintenance equivalency.
  2. Must be capable of performing unsupervised complex maintenance actions and holds or has held a QAR qualification, engine turn qualification or advanced troubleshooting experience.
  3. Must be capable of managing assigned additional collateral programs, training junior mechanics on aircraft systems / GOP’s / safety practices, competent in the use of specialized tooling and/or test equipment and supervises aircraft servicing.
  4. Performance will be continuously monitored by supervision and reviewed annually with the employee.
  5. Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  6. Must be able to climb in and out of the Aircraft
  7. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
