Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, and service military aircraft at the Lancaster, CA site. You will perform inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting on assigned aircraft per FAA and company procedures, including preflight and post-flight checks and documentation.

The role requires 4+ years of heavy aircraft maintenance, an FAA A&P certificate, a valid state license, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • 4+ years of heavy aircraft maintenance or flightline operations in high-tempo environments.
  • FAA Airframe, Powerplant, or Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Ability to read, interpret and use maintenance manuals, service bulletins, blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Must have a current state driver's license.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

  • Adheres to Technical Orders, GOPs/SOPs, Air Force Instructions, and directives identified by Site Management or the PWS.
  • Perform launch, recovery, inspections/maintenance; preflight and post-flight checks, ground handling and servicing.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain aircraft systems and components; remove/install parts as needed.
  • Complete maintenance forms and documentation before end of shift.
  • Assist with Tool Control Program and staffing the Tool Room to meet contract requirements.
  • Perform other position-related duties as assigned.

Job description

Performs inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting tasks on assigned aircraft.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Adheres to all Technical Orders, GOPs/SOPs, Air Force Instructions, and any other directives identified by Site Management or the PWS.
  • Perform launch, recovery, scheduled and unscheduled inspections/maintenance.
  • Preflight/thru flight/BPO inspections, ground handling, minor maintenance, and servicing.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting, installation, repair and maintenance of all systems and components on the aircraft at the organizational level of maintenance.
  • Services aircraft. Performs end-of-runway, post-flight, preflight, thru-flight, and phase inspections.
  • Troubleshoots and maintains aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment. Removes and installs aircraft components.
  • Performs inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the company aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer and company maintenance manuals and procedures.
  • Services, operates, and maintains ground support equipment and performs interior and exterior cleaning of aircraft and work areas.
  • Completes aircraft forms and maintenance information systems documentation accurately, completing all documentation as soon as practical, but always prior to the end of shift.
  • Assists in implementing the Tool Control Program and may be required to staff the Tool Room section to meet contract performance requirements.
  • Assists in removal and installation of components.
  • Orders parts and equipment through the Air Force supply system and ensures supply discipline, categorizing orders in accordance with Air Force parts/supply/equipment urgency designators.
  • Completes assigned training requirements during prescribed timelines.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalentpreferred.
  • Minimum four (4) years of heavy aircraft maintenance and/or hands-on flightline operations, real-time troubleshooting, and mission-critical aircraft turnaround in high-tempo environments and/or
  • FAA Airframe, Powerplant, or Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Mustread,interpretand use manufacturers andaircraftmaintenance manuals, service bulletins, blueprints, wiring/schematic diagrams, datatablesand other specifications todeterminefeasibility and method to repair or replace malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Mustpossessa current state issueddriverslicense.
  • Must obtain andmaintaina Secret clearance.NOTE: U.S. citizenship isrequiredfor facility credentials/authorization at this work site.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
  • Must possess the ability to carry and lift overhead up to 50 pounds.
  • Duties include walking, climbing, standing, stooping, stretching, and squatting for purposes of moving equipment, boarding and de-boarding the aircraft, performing maintenance using ladders, and performing maintenance atop and below aircraft.
  • Work is primarily performed outside in a high-level noise environment.
  • Performing maintenance in low-light areas, operating support equipment after daylight hours. Work is occasionally performed in inclement weather.
Compensation Details:

$50.00 per hour
