Job description

What You Will Be Doing:
We are in search of a skilled Aircraft Crew Chief Mechanic to join our CLS team. Job requirements and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Performs Maintenance, Repair, Launch, and Recovery activities on Partner and Foreign Military Sales F-35 aircraft.
  2. Ensures aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight.
  3. Performs maintenance, inspections, and servicing requirements on all aircraft systems in accordance with Joint Technical Data (JTD) and all applicable program and service guidance.
  4. Performs and/or assists with Field-Level Modifications and Time Compliance Technical Data (TCTD) maintenance actions.
  5. Assigns tasks to other maintenance team members. Performs On-The-Job training for team members and Partner aircraft maintenance personnel.
  6. Maintains and updates aircraft records and status within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) of the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS).
  7. Keeps the Production staff updated on aircraft status.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned by the Aircraft Supervisor and Associate Aircraft Maintenance Manager.
  9. Considered candidates must be capable of working first (1st), second (2nd), and third (3rd) shift(s) and departing on temporary duty assignments, on short notice, dependent on customer needs. Candidate must be able to work mandatory overtime when required.
  10. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain F-35 'Red X' and In-Process Inspection certification.
  11. Candidate must be able to acquire and keep a flight line driver's competency card.
  12. Must have an Interim clearance prior to start and maintain an Interim/Secret clearance throughout the duration.
  13. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms.
  2. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Must have 24 months of hands-on flightline F-35 maintenance experience to include working knowledge of Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) to include:
    1. Anomaly Fault Resolution System (AFRS)
    2. Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
    3. Joint Technical Data (JTD) Navigation
    4. Portable Maintenance Aid (PMA) and Maintenance Vehicle Interface (MVI) activities
    5. Configuration Management
    6. Forms Documentation
    7. Supply Chain Management (SCM) activities
  2. Requires minimum of 4 years hands-on working experience in 5 or 7-skill level USAF AFSC, CDI/CDQAR Navy NEC, US Army Aviation MOS or CDI/CDQAR United States Marine Corps, or equivalent on Fighter/Attack Helicopter aircraft.
  3. Knowledge of Safety, Tool Control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Supply, Hazardous Material (HAZMAT), Quality, and Security programs.

Desired Skills:

  1. Valid US Passport.
  2. FAA aircraft and Power Plant Mechanic license.
  3. Experience in the Nose-to-Tail maintenance concept.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of USAF 21-101 and 00-20-1 maintenance publications as well as DCMA Instruction 8210, and AS9110 Standards.
  5. Experience as an On-The-Job trainer.
  6. Good communication skills.
  7. Engine Run Certification, combat avionics systems, fighter aircraft crew escape systems (i.e. canopy and ejection seat), experience in fighter weapons loading, experience in structural repairs and low observable system maintenance are highly desirable.

  3. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
  4. Schedule for this Position: Non-standard 40 hour work week as assigned by leader.
