Description Position Summary The Aircraft Mechanic performs skilled work ranging from basic to advanced tasks, including identifying, removing, and installing aircraft components, as well as servicing engines and accessories to ensure airworthiness in accordance with customer specifications and FAA regulations. The mechanic is expected to read, understand, and follow all relevant instructions and safety procedures to complete assigned work safely and effectively. Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform tasks in accordance with the Repair Station's approved ratings and follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete all related paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Provide shift turnover information to the Lead Mechanic and document updates on form NSA-MF-22 when the Lead Mechanic is unavailable.
  • Notify the Inspection team when a task requires or becomes an RII (Required Inspection Item).
  • Remove, install, fabricate, or refurbish aircraft interior items, such as trim, carpet, cabinetry, seats, upholstery, and panels, in compliance with FAA, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
  • Work on additional aircraft features such as sound-proofing and wall panels when needed.
  • Segregate and clearly identify all removed components belonging to the repair station or customer.
  • Maintain a sufficient quantity and quality of tools necessary for task completion.
  • Ensure all tools are accounted for and returned to the tool room at the end of each shift.
  • Perform assigned tasks in accordance with job cards, engineering orders, maintenance manuals, and other approved documentation.
  • Understand and apply relevant chapters and sections of the company manual.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Day-to-day task execution as assigned, based on job cards and procedures.
With Approval
  • Time off requests and any actions outside of standard procedures or guidelines.
Key Interactions Internal Contacts
  • Immediate supervisor and maintenance leadership for direction and oversight.
  • Department leads for coordination on tasks and priorities.
  • Other employees and contract personnel within maintenance and related departments.
External Contacts
  • Corporate and OpCo employees for coordination and compliance.
  • Customers for support and service updates.
  • Vendors as needed for tools, materials, and equipment.
Position Requirements Academic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Language Requirements
  • Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English.
Licenses And Certifications
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • An Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate is preferred.
  • Airframe Familiarization (FAM) course certifications are preferred.
Experience
  • A minimum of 18 months of relevant experience is preferred, including knowledge of narrow and wide-body airframe techniques and terminology.
  • Alternatively, completion of an FAA-approved A&P program.
Technical Skills
  • Basic computer skills are required for navigating North State’s ERP system, using point-of-use (POU) vending systems, and accessing customer maintenance manuals.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and carry tools and materials.
  • Must be capable of working in physically demanding positions, such as kneeling, stooping, and squatting.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders and platforms frequently.

  • Must work safely and comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or behaviors and take reasonable steps to prevent unsafe actions.
  • Adhere to North State’s Safety Management System (SMS) culture.
  • Safety glasses (or prescription safety glasses) are required while performing work.
