Are you ready to put your experience to work? If so, Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Aircraft Mechanic 3. The selected candidate will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals, supporting the B-2 modification team at Whiteman AFB, Mo. This position requires a security clearance; an active clearance is preferred, but a clearance request will be submitted for the selected candidate if necessary. The role involves working in a classified environment; cell phones and personal electronic devices are prohibited within these areas.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform operations such as removing/installing aircraft engines, electrical wiring, coaxial cables, and low observables
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and service aircraft and engine systems
  • Interpret and use various test equipment, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals
  • Diagnose malfunctions accurately to identify and correct problems efficiently
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals
  • Measure parts with precision tools like micrometers and calipers
  • Perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly, or adjustment of aircraft systems following technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations
  • Potentially perform similar duties in aircraft build, modification, or maintenance roles
  • Use appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor

The candidate must be willing to work various shifts, including 1st shift (0630–1500), 2nd shift (1430–2300), and overtime as needed.

Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with 4 years of related experience
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds, repetitive movements, working overhead, and other physical activities
  • Ability to pass a physical/respiratory evaluation for respirator clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DOD Secret Clearance within the last 6 years
  • Completion of A&P certificate or Associates degree in a related field
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with others
  • Previous experience with composites, manufacturing, or production
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-starter with high motivation and adaptability

Salary Range: $52,900.00 - $88,100.00. Compensation may vary based on experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO. The application period is approximately 20 days from posting, subject to change.
