STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Mechanics in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general to complex maintenance tasks on assigned aircraft and related systems, including removal and installation of panels and components, repair work, and sheet metal repair or installation.
- Conduct aircraft mechanic duties requiring advanced knowledge, training of junior technicians, or troubleshooting repairs.
- Examine, disassemble, and inspect engines, parts, or other components for wear, warping, breaks, leaks, or other deficiencies.
- Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components using hand and power tools.
- Service and maintain aircraft systems through tasks like flushing crankcases, cleaning screens, greasing, and brake checks.
- Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, functional components, and parts such as wings, fuselage, rigging, and hydraulic units.
- Test engine and system operations using testing equipment and listen to engine sounds for malfunctions.
- Remove or install engines using hoists or forklifts.
- Disassemble or modify aircraft structures, systems, or components following drawings, engineering orders, and technical publications.
- Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine repair methods.
- Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems with hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
- Maintain and repair shop facilities, equipment, and tooling as needed.
- Work independently on projects when required.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree in Aviation Technology preferred, along with model-specific training.
- Minimum 3 years of current experience in maintaining, inspecting, servicing, and repairing corporate aircraft.
- Valid FAA A&P License required.
- Basic computer skills; experience with Aviation Maintenance Software (e.g., Corridor) preferred.
- Regular attendance, ability to work overtime, and potential shift work based on aircraft schedules.
- Valid driver’s license and US Passport preferred; must pass pre-employment drug test and participate in random testing.
- Self-motivated, quality-oriented, able to work unsupervised, and responsible for safety and FAA compliance.
- Physical ability to perform routine standing, walking, bending, and manual work in a hangar environment with temperature variations.
