  • Notify Director of issues and implement retention techniques.
  • Assist in inventory management and replenishment.
  • Monitor student attendance.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Director.

Position Purpose
The Aircraft Mechanic Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive instruction in assigned courses, ensuring that students grasp both theoretical concepts and practical applications in aircraft maintenance. In addition to teaching, the instructor manages essential administrative tasks, such as maintaining records, assessing student performance, and collaborating with faculty to enhance the curriculum. This role is pivotal in fostering a supportive learning environment that promotes student success and prepares them for careers in the aviation industry.

Key Competencies:
  • Provide engaging and effective teaching in aircraft maintenance principles that aligns with industry standards.
  • Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and offers individualized support to enhance student success.
  • Oversee administrative responsibilities, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and standards.

This position ensures that the aircraft maintenance training program effectively prepares students for careers in aviation, aligning with industry standards and contributing to the overall success of A&P Mechanic Institute.

Job Responsibilities
  • Teach classes on a scheduled basis, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment that fosters student engagement and enhances learning in aircraft maintenance.
  • Assist the Director to develop and refine curriculum, prepare course materials, and schedule classes, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and laboratory environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained for student use.
  • Establish and maintain accurate academic and attendance records for each student, submitting attendance, grades, evaluations, and other documentation as required by International AeroTech Academy's policies and procedures..
  • Proactively notify the Director of any current or potential issues that require immediate attention and implement proven retention techniques to support student success.
  • Assist in managing the inventory of equipment and supplies, submitting replenishment requests to the Director as needed.
  • Monitor student attendance closely.
  • Complete other tasks and projects as assigned by the Director, contributing to the overall success of the aircraft maintenance training program.
Schedules

Applicants will be considered for one of the following schedules:

  • Option 2: Monday - Friday: 5:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Required Qualifications
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance (special considerations will be given for more diverse experience)
  • Strong command of both theoretical and practical aspects of aircraft maintenance, with contemporary knowledge and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, a strong work ethic, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong emphasis on customer service in an educational context.
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, exhibiting exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Be proficient in computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, and PowerPoint.
