Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician in Wheeling, IL. This full-time, on-site role involves servicing some of the world’s most sophisticated civilian aircraft, with opportunities to advance through AMT I–IV levels based on experience and licenses.

Qualifications

• Airframe or Powerplant license required; Airframe license preferred for AMT I.
• 0–2 years aviation maintenance experience for AMT I.
• 2–4 years aviation maintenance experience for AMT II; corporate aircraft experience preferred.
• 4–6+ years aviation maintenance experience for AMT III; corporate aircraft experience preferred.
• AMT IV requires both Airframe and Powerplant licenses.
• Strong communication and ability to work under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
• Removal and installation of panels and components.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving aircraft system/component issues.
• Defueling aircraft.
• Engine removal/installation.
• Operating ground support equipment.
• Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components.
• Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/taxiing.
• Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling.
• Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, maintenance databases.
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
