Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department is seeking an Area Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) in Hillsboro, OR to maintain and ensure safety of the fleet across multiple locations. The role supports EC135 airframes and delivers high-quality transport services to patients.

Strong emphasis on FAA compliance and teamwork with the AMT and operations staff. Minimum qualifications include 3 years turbine helicopter experience, an A&P license, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including on-call

Qualifications

• Three (3) years turbine powered helicopter experience.
• FAA knowledge and compliance requirements.
• Valid A&P license and state driver’s license.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Familiarity with EMS and aircraft maintenance records.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and on-call.
• Must pass FAA drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance services including mechanical inspections and repairs.
• Manage inventory, update maintenance logs, and document parts.
• Document FAA information and follow policies and security standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment for the AMT team.
• Coordinate with departments, vendors, and flight crew.
• Collaborate professionally with AMTs, operations, and allied health staff.

• Starting Salary: $71,763 - $104,024 annually (including 10% geo modifier)
• Area Stipend: $6,000
• IA Stipend: $2,080
• Sign-On Bonus: $12,500

We’re hiring a Area Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) responsible for the overall maintenance and safety of our fleet across multiple locations within the Company footprint. This technician will be qualified to support our EC135 airframe. This is a key role to ensure our team can safely maintain and deliver timely and high-quality transportation services, care and customer service to patients.

Responsibilities

• Aircraft Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance services including mechanical inspections, screening, repairs and provide regular statuses to the Lead Technician.
• Manage inventory checks to ensure stock of supplies and equipment, regularly update the equipment tracking log, place replacement requests when necessary and document part expenditures.
• Clearly document service paperwork and FAA information as required and adhere to policies and procedures while complying with the company’s information security standards.
• Take pride in sustaining a safe and clean working environment for the aircraft maintenance team and flight crew.
• Use appropriate communication methods to help facilitate coordination of efforts between departments, vendors and team members.
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow AMTs and operations team.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Three (3) years turbine powered helicopter experience
• Valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
• Valid State issued Driver's license
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Federal Aviation Regulations knowledge
• EMS Systems, Aircraft maintenance systems, records and maintenance support and planning
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime and 24/7 on-call rotations.
• Must be acceptable in accordance with the FAA drug and alcohol testing program.
• Must be able to push and/or pull 100+ lbs.
• Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• EC135 maintenance experience
• FAA Inspection Authorization Certificate
• Related experience under CFR Parts 133, 135 and 145
• Autopilot maintenance experience
• Avionics and electrical repair experience
