Job summary

Western Aircraft Inc. seeks an Aircraft Maintenance Technician Apprentice to work alongside certified technicians, assisting in inspections, testing, repair, and service of general aviation aircraft to FAA and manufacturer specifications.

You will help maintain tools and documentation while ensuring care of customer property. Applicants should be 18+, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and be prepared to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.

Qualifications

  • No experience required.
  • Must be 18 years old or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badge.
  • Work environment includes aircraft hangar with variable conditions; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and overhead 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist certificated maintenance technicians with routine maintenance and inspections on general aviation aircraft.
  • Support inspection, testing, repair, maintenance and service of aircraft to return to service per FAA and manufacturer specs.
  • Keep work area clean and organized and protect customer property at all stages of maintenance.
  • Document and track on‑the‑job training hours to meet A&P certification requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician Apprentice will work side by side with certificated maintenance technicians to assist them with inspection, testing, repair, maintenance, and service of aircraft using test equipment and hand tools, as needed, to return aircraft to service per FAA and manufacturers specifications.

  • Assists certificated maintenance technicians in performing routine maintenance and inspections on general aviation aircraft
  • Ensures proper care of customer property at all phases of maintenance work
  • Continually keeps clean and organized work area including personal tool box
  • Documentation and tracking of on the job training hours needed to meet minimum requirements to qualify for A&P certifications
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Work is performed in an aircraft hangar environment with moderate noise level. The employee is frequently subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. Constantly requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes such as bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and turning to pick parts. Must have ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs. and 25 lbs. overhead.
