Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance D – Structural/Mechanical to ensure safe, reliable aircraft operations.

The role involves hands-on inspection, maintenance, and repair of aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations and engineering specs. The ideal candidate has 6+ months of P8-A maintenance experience or 4+ years with related education, along with the ability to interpret manuals, use diagnostic tools, and work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
• Minimum 6 months experience in aircraft maintenance on P8-A, preferably with a focus on complex mechanical and avionics systems.
• Ability to pass a flightline physical.
• Must have required tools prior to starting work; tool list will be provided. Tools must be shadowed and engraved.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft components in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations.
• Conduct thorough inspections to identify wear, tear, or damage, and carry out necessary repairs.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and resolve aircraft system issues.
• Adhere to maintenance manuals, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements during all maintenance activities.
• Document all maintenance activities accurately in maintenance logs and records.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and provide feedback on aircraft performance and any issues encountered.
• Ensure that all tools, materials, and equipment are calibrated correctly and maintained in good working condition.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance maintenance processes and practices.
• Performs flightline operations, aircraft inspections, or repairs, sometimes in confined spaces and inclement weather.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering documentation.
• Ability to obtain certification to operate self-propelled vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, aircraft support equipment, and towing vehicles.
• Proficiency with aircraft maintenance software and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.
• Ability to climb, including ladders, stairs, and portable stands and navigate these with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to lift and/or move objects, up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
