Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance C – P8-A in Waco, TX. The role focuses on maintaining, inspecting, and repairing aircraft to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You will work hands-on with components, diagnostics, and documentation, in a 4/10 schedule with on-site duties. Preferred candidates hold an FAA A&P certification and have experience with P8-A or similar aircraft.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior aircraft maintenance experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior aircraft maintenance experience.
• Minimum 2 years experience in aircraft maintenance on P8-A (or similar) aircraft.
• Ability to pass a flightline physical.
• Must have required tools prior to starting work; tool list will be provided. Tools must be shadowed and engraved.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft components in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations.
• Conduct thorough inspections to identify wear, tear, or damage, and carry out necessary repairs.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and resolve aircraft system issues.
• Adhere to maintenance manuals, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements during all maintenance activities.
• Document all maintenance activities accurately in maintenance logs and records.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and provide feedback on aircraft performance and any issues encountered.
• Ensure that all tools, materials, and equipment are calibrated correctly and maintained in good working condition.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance maintenance processes and practices.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering documentation.
• Ability to obtain certification to operate self-propelled vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, aircraft support equipment, and towing vehicles.
• Proficiency with aircraft maintenance software and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to ascend / descend, including ladders, stairs, and portable stands and navigate these with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to move objects, up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Performs flightline operations, aircraft inspections, or repairs, sometimes in confined spaces and in outdoor weather conditions.
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.
• Ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance.
