Job summary

Southwest Airlines Co. is seeking a Supervisor Aircraft Maintenance to lead the team in hangar and at the airport, ensuring every aircraft is ready for departure.

You will influence safety, reliability, and on-time performance while supporting mechanics and coordinating with Airport Operations. The role demands strong leadership, adherence to FAA regulations, and the ability to manage shifts across early mornings, late evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Airframe and Powerplant license is required.
  • US citizenship or work authorization required.
  • Ability to travel with overnight stays several times a year.
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per company guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Supervisors and Leadership to meet department metrics and objectives.
  • Set clear expectations on daily assignments and procedures.
  • Communicate process changes and procedures to Employees.
  • Assure compliance with policies in Southwest Technical Operations Handbook.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is performed per approved procedures and documented before aircraft departure.
  • Review work packages for completeness and accuracy before return to service.
  • Coordinate maintenance requirements with Maintenance Control and other departments.
  • May perform other duties as directed by Leaders.
