Job summary

Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) in Fremont, California seeks an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor (Part-Time) to deliver FAA Part 147‑aligned curriculum and hands‑on training to aspiring aircraft technicians.

You will mentor students, maintain safety and record-keeping, and support curriculum updates in an evening schedule (Mon–Thu, 5:00 pm–11:00 pm). A high school diploma or GED, an FAA A&P certificate, and 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification required.
  • Education: HS diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques in a hands-on environment.
  • Deliver FAA-aligned curriculum to prepare students for A&P certification.
  • Demonstrate practical skills used by A&P mechanics and aviation technicians.

About the Role

As an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor (A&P Mechanic Instructor), you will deliver FAA Part 147‑aligned aviation maintenance curriculum and provide hands‑on instruction to students preparing for careers as aircraft maintenance technicians (AMTs).

This role is ideal for experienced A&P mechanics, aircraft mechanics, and aviation maintenance professionals who want to combine technical expertise with mentorship and training while delivering hands‑on aviation maintenance instruction in classroom and active hangar environments.

Schedule Options
  • Option 2 (Evening): Monday - Thursday: 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Key Responsibilities
