Zusammenfassung

Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM), the largest aviation maintenance training school in the U.S., is seeking experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to join our team as instructors. You will deliver FAA Part 147-aligned curriculum in classroom and hangar environments, mentoring aspiring technicians and shaping their careers.

No prior teaching experience required; AIM offers a 5-day paid instructor training program and flexible evening/weekend schedules to accommodate experienced A&P

Qualifikationen

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in aviation or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • FAA A&P certificate required.

About the Role

As an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor (A&P Mechanic Instructor), you will deliver FAA Part 147-aligned aviation maintenance curriculum and provide hands-on instruction to students preparing for careers as aircraft maintenance technicians (AMTs).

This role is ideal for experienced A&P mechanics, aircraft mechanics, and aviation maintenance professionals who want to combine technical expertise with mentorship and training while delivering hands‑on aviation maintenance instruction in classroom and active hangar environments.

Schedule options:
Evening Shift (Two Options):
  • Option 1: Monday-Thursday: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM; Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Fridays flexible, as needed)
  • Option 2: Monday-Thursday: 1:30 PM - 11:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
  • Teach aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques in a hands-on environment
  • Deliver FAA-aligned curriculum to prepare students for A&P certification
  • Demonstrate practical skills used by A&P mechanics and aviation technicians
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress
  • Support curriculum updates and collaborate with program leadership

Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree in aviation or related field preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience
  • Background as an A&P Mechanic, Aircraft Mechanic, or Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT)
Licensure

FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate required

Skills
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems and aviation maintenance procedures
  • Interest in mentoring, coaching, and developing others
  • Ability to work in a structured, compliance-driven training environment
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
