Job summary

Contour Airlines seeks motivated entrants to join its maintenance team in Smyrna, TN. The role offers hands-on training across hangar operations, stores, tooling, and aircraft maintenance, with development through multiple departments in the aviation sector.

You will perform inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting under supervision, following strict safety and technical standards. A high school diploma and basic Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.

• Must have a valid driver license and good driving record.
• Must understand, read, and write English.
• Possess high school diploma or GED certification.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products, including Office 365, Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Assist, under constant supervision, in maintaining or repairing aircraft, aircraft systems, aircraft engines and aircraft components according to all technical specifications.
• Under supervision, perform daily scheduled and non-scheduled inspections, maintenance, repair. and alterations of aircraft.
• Practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
• Assist in troubleshooting defective aircraft systems and components.
• Performs special projects and/or other duties as assigned or required by leadership.

Compensation Details

The starting hourly rate for this position is between$20.50and $25.50depending on your prior work experience. Based on your performance, you are eligible to receive a step increase of $1.00 each year based on your pay anniversary date until you reach $29.50. Once you have reached the maximum pay rate, you are eligible to receive a retention bonus of up to $2,000.00 each year.

When you work on a Contour observed holiday, you are eligible to receive holiday pay which is paid at 2 times your hourly rate. Specific information regarding Contour’s observed holiday policy is outlined in our Employee Handbook which will be provided to you during the onboarding process should you be selected for employment.

When you work in excess of 40 hours within the pay period, you are eligible for overtime, which is paid at 1.5 times your hourly rate.

Summary of Essential Duties

This is an entry level position which will give an individual the opportunity to gain on-the-job training for multiple departments within the Company and the aviation industry. This position will be assisting all Contour hangar operational departments include Stores, Tooling, Shipping/Receiving, Aircraft Maintenance, Avionics, Accessories, and Components.

Key Responsibilities

Physical Requirements

• Frequent stooping, bending, and kneeling.
• Ability to stand on feet for extended periods.
• Lift and carry objects up to 70 pounds regularly, up to 100+ pounds occasionally (with assistance).
• Ability to climb stairs, scaffolding, and/or ladders of varying heights without assistance.
• Ability to work in cramped spaces and awkward positions as required.
• Tolerance to noise, vibration, and outdoor weather conditions.
• Ability to wear protective gear such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.

Work Environment

• Airport ramp/warehouse environment subject to varying weather conditions.
• Regular exposure to aircraft noise and vibrations when testing engines.
