Baker Aviation is currently hiring for Aircraft Interiors Technicians in Burlington, NC.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role in Burlington, NC, for an Aircraft Interiors Technician. The technician will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and modifying interior components and structures in aircraft, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. Day-to-day duties include inspecting, removing, repairing, and reassembling aircraft interiors such as seats, floorings, panels, and cabinetry. The role requires close collaboration with other team members and adherence to company quality and safety protocols.
Interior Maintenance & Repair
- Inspect, remove, repair, and install aircraft interior components such as seats, sidewalls, ceiling panels, bins, carpeting, lavatories, and galleys.
- Diagnose issues related to cabin structures, mounting systems, upholstery, and furnishings.
- Perform repairs using approved materials, adhesives, fasteners, and fabrication techniques.
Installation & Modification
- Install new or refurbished interior components and furnishings.
- Support aircraft modification projects, including VIP or custom interior builds when applicable.
- Follow engineering drawings, technical manuals, IPC, SRM, work orders, and blueprints.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all work meets FAA regulations, company standards, and OEM specifications.
- Complete accurate documentation in maintenance tracking systems.
- Perform operational checks to verify proper installation and functionality.
Fabrication & Upholstery (as applicable)
- Cut, shape, and fit materials such as fabric, leather, foam, composite panels, and laminates.
- Re-cover or modify seat cushions and soft goods.
- Fabricate interior parts using shop tools, sewing machines, and composite repair equipment.
Collaboration & Safety
- Coordinate with engineers, mechanics, and inspectors to support aircraft schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow all safety protocols.
- Provide input during interior planning, refurbishment, or troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with aircraft interiors, upholstery, cabinetry, or related mechanical/technical work.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, SRMs, IPCs, and work instructions.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations (14 CFR Part 43/145).
- Proficiency with hand tools, shop equipment, and interior repair materials.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Previous experience in corporate/VIP aircraft environments.
