Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is seeking an Aircraft Inspector III to inspect aircraft, systems, equipment, and parts to ensure airworthiness and conformance with manufacturer specifications and government regulations. You will lead in-process inspections, final inspections of minor work, and authorization for return to service of minor work.

The role requires FAA A&P certification, 5+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher degree may substitute.
• FAA A&P certification required.
• Previous aircraft inspector experience in a part 145 repair station or MRO preferred.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft, systems, equipment, and parts.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process inspections and final inspection of minor work (non-337 form).
• Approve return to service of minor work (non-337 form).
• Identify breaches of airworthiness standards and ensure conformance to manufacturer specs and regulations.

As an Aircraft Inspector III, you will be using your skills and expertise to inspect our aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts to ensure airworthiness and conformance to the manufacturers specifications and government regulations. Youll be responsible for identifying any breach of standards for airworthiness. Your inspection authority will include all in-process inspections, final inspection of minor work (non-337 form), and approval for return to service of minor work (non-337 form).The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. Qualifications You Must Have:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
• Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification
• Previous experience as an aircraft inspector in a part 145 repair station or MRO
• Thorough knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts
• Understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures
• Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
• Ability to obtain/maintain Secret Security Clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Basic understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1
• Understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations.
• Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $30.35 - $41.73.
