Job summary

Textron Aviation in Wichita, KS seeks a Furniture Builder for the first shift to manufacture standard and customized aircraft furniture. You will read orders and blueprints, cut and assemble components, and apply finishes while adhering to quality standards.

You'll operate table saws, band saws, routers, and other tools, record data for traceability, and ensure on-time completion of tasks within budgeted hours. Prior experience in assembly or composite work is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6+ months related assembly/composite experience.
• Textron blueprint reading class preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work from orders and blueprints to build and assemble small aircraft furniture per specifications.
• Operates equipment such as table saw, band saw, platen press, hand and table router and sander with minimal assistance.
• Uses small and large power tools, sanders, rivet guns, drills, routers, saws, adhesive applicators, calipers, gauges and other measuring instruments.
• Use of precision measurement devices.
• Operates spray gun for adhesive spray according to company specifications
• Applies laminate and veneer to composite and other materials.
• Accurately record information required for data collection and material traceability with assistance
• Understand and respond to budget hours and schedule requirements with assistance
• Responsible only for own work.
• Performs other related duties as required.
