Job summary

PKL Services Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Flight Line Crew Chief at Mountain Home AFB, ID to lead launch/recovery operations and perform maintenance on F-15 aircraft. The role requires a high school diploma, US work authorization, and a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • Qualified/certified 7-level Crew Chief with at least 6 years of F-15 experience.

  • Knowledge of Air Force maintenance publications/instructions/manuals.
  • Must obtain and retain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform required F-15 maintenance and ground handling and servicing.
  • Conduct basic pre-flight, post-flight, thru-flight, phase, acceptance, transfer & special inspections.
  • Launch and recovery of aircraft; EOR operations; quick turns of aircraft.
  • Hot Pit refueling operations and ground tests; corrosion control.
  • Wash, lubricate, maintain, and modify aircraft and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and related systems and components.
  • Inspect components for clearances, tolerances, and proper installation.
  • Review maintenance forms and ensure complete documentation.
  • Perform duties as defined by Air Force Instructions (AFIs).
  • All other duties as directed by the Program Manager/Site Manager.

The Aircraft Flight Line Crew Chief shall perform Launch and recovery of aircraft. Perform required maintenance and ground handling, servicing, and End of Runway (EOR) operations. Remove and replace F-15 aircraft parts and accessories/components (to include removal, installation and troubleshooting of secondary power system components).

Key responsibilities include:
  • Perform required F-15 maintenance and ground handling and servicing.
  • Perform basic pre-flight, post- flight, thru-flight, phase, acceptance, transfer & special inspections.
  • Launch and recovery of aircraft; EOR operations; quick turns of aircraft.
  • Hot Pit refueling operations, maintenance ground tests, corrosion control.
  • Washing, lubrication, maintenance, and modification of aircraft and equipment.
  • Remove and replace F-15 aircraft parts and accessories/components (to include removal, installation and troubleshooting of secondary power system components).
  • Troubleshoots and maintains aircraft hydraulic, and other related systems, structures, components, and related equipment.
  • Remove and replace F-15SG aircraft parts and accessories/components with the demonstrated skill to adjust and settings according to established specifications.
  • Inspect and check components for clearances, tolerances, proper installation, and operation.
  • Proper use of hand tools and test equipment, as required.
  • Inspect and operate powered and nonpowered aerospace ground equipment.
  • Review maintenance forms, aircraft records, automated maintenance data systems, and historical reports to ensure complete documentation.
  • Perform duties as defined by applicable Air Force Instructions (AFIs), along with any USAF like functions typically performed within their associated career field.
  • All other duties as directed by the Program Manager/Site Manager.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Qualified/certified 7-level Crew Chief with a minimum of six (6) years F-15 experience as a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist or equivalent duties.
  • Capable of operating support equipment.
  • Be able to use electronic tech data (e-tools).
  • Knowledge of Air Force maintenance publications/instructions/manuals.
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a Secret security clearance.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
  • May be required to work in areas in or near a hangar/ flight line that may be noisy at times.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud at times.
  • Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions, including the F-15 cockpit.
  • May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind.
  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment when in or passing thru a hazardous area.
  • This position requires normal physical functions.
  • Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing.
  • May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers.
  • Normal color/depth perception.
  • No record of emotional instability.
