Job summary

PKL Services Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic I (C-130 Flightline) to perform maintenance and cleaning on aircraft at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay. Work will support MV-22 and C-130 platforms with a focus on flightline operations and on-schedule mission readiness.

The role involves extensive troubleshooting, lubrication, structural repairs, and in-depth inspections. A DoD CAC, 4+ years of related experience, and Navy skills are required. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must obtain DoD CAC card privileges for flight line workspaces and critical information systems.
• Four (4) years experience troubleshooting and repair on C-130 or equivalent (A&P or FCC license).
• Must attain all qualifications within 90-day probation.
• Complete Navy Skills Specialty Class “C” school for MOS/NAC/AFSC.
• Powerplants personnel may require APU certification on the C-130.
• Knowledge of corrosion control and aircraft painting techniques.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Acquire required Support Equipment licenses as needed.
• Ability to transfer technical knowledge to less qualified personnel; clear verbal/written communication.
• Meet CNAFINST 4790.2 NAMPSOPs and NAMSOP instructions.
• Knowledge of Naval Aviation Logistics Command Information System (NALCOMIS).

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean aircraft exterior and components using high pressure wash system.
• Perform pre/post wash lubrication and corrosion control.
• Repair engines, power train and mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions in engines, landing gear, flight surfaces, anti-ice systems, pneudraulic, and APU.
• Repair/replace wings, fuselage, and other structural components.
• Conduct preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight inspections.
• Supervise jacking and towing; document work in records.
• Service engines and airframe components at line station.
• Specialize in structural, precision, and engine repair.
• Perform hot and cold refueling and remove/install power plants.
• FAA license consideration if not certified on aircraft platform.
• Cross train on MV-22 platform.
• All other duties as assigned.

About the role

PKL Services Inc. will provide aircraft cleaning, washing, and organizational level (“O” Level) maintenance in support of squadrons within Marine Aircraft Logistics Squadron (MALS-24). Work will primarily be performed on MV-22 for Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 268 and 363 and C-130 for Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 153 at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay, HI.

Aircraft Mechanic I (C-130 Flightline)

The mechanic also performs flight line essential services as directed by the daily Flight Schedule.

Additional duties include:

• Wash and clean aircraft exterior and aircraft components utilizing high pressure wash system.
• Performs pre/post wash lubrication and corrosion control of aircraft.
• Repair engines, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions.
• Make repairs to aircraft and follows direction of higher graded workers.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti- icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
• Repair, replace, and rebuild structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls using hand tools, power tools, machines, and other special tools and equipment.
• Adjust, repair, or replace aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
• Supervise the jacking and towing of aircraft, enter in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verify the work was performed satisfactorily.
• Service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.
• Specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and specialize in engine repair.
• Performing hot and cold refueling of aircraft and removing and installing power plants, components, and parts as required.
• May be required to be licensed by Federal Aviation Administration if not certified on a specific aircraft platform.
• May require specialization in engine or other aircraft systems related disciplines.
• Will be required to cross train on the MV-22 aircraft platform.
• Any and all other duties as assigned by the Aircraft Site Manager.

About you

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Shall be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC) card privileges to ensure access to flight line workspaces and critical information systems.
• Four (4) years previous experience in troubleshooting and repair on the C-130 series aircraft or possess equivalent industry experience such as Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) or Federal Communication Commission (FCC) license or greater.
• Must be able to attain all qualifications during the 90-day probationary period.
• Shall have completed the appropriate Navy Skills Specialty Class “C” school for their MOS/NAC/AFSC.
• Powerplants personnel may require APU certification on the C-130.
• Thorough knowledge of corrosion control and aircraft painting techniques.
• Must have and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.
• If deemed by the Site Manager, this individual must acquire all Support Equipment licenses that are required for the position.
• Will possess knowledge of the learning process and how to transfer technical knowledge to less qualified personnel, including the ability to express thought in both oral and written communications.
• Shall perform requirements in a manner that meet or exceeds CNAFINST 4790.2 series, applicable Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedure (NAMPSOPs), Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs) and local NAMSOP instructions.
• Knowledge of naval maintenance publications, maintenance requirement cards, and the ability to document maintenance utilizing the Naval Aviation Logistics Command Information System (NALCOMIS).
