The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) in Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking a candidate for the position responsible for routine disassembly and assembly operations on aircraft engines and accessories.

The salary ranges from $24.72 to $28.80 per hour.
This position is located in the Production Lines Division, MRO Production Department at Fleet Readiness Centers (FRCs) East, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and/or Southwest. The incumbent performs standard, routine disassembly and limited assembly operations on aircraft engines, engine assemblies and accessories.
The primary purpose of the position is to perform maintenance and repair of gas turbine engines, systems, components and assemblies support by the organization. In this position the incumbent may be required to rotate to various areas within the Production Department.
0-3 Years
Disassembles aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories, removing tubing, fuel controls, pumps, etc., from engines and breaks down major assemblies in proper sequence. Determines if disassembled parts are reusable, recognizing scratches, burns, deformation, etc.
Under technical surveillance of a journey-level mechanic, assembles gas turbines engines, various aircraft and gas turbine engine sub-assemblies, and parts/components.
Examines, evaluates, reconditions and assembles sub-assemblies of limited variety such as assembling compressors or building up "hot" sections.
Checks disassembled parts for defects such as warping, under or overweight or for continuity of wiring harnesses.
The incumbent visual, dimensional, and tactile checks of individual parts for foreign object damage, stress fractures, excessive wear, etc.
The incumbent determines the condition of all component parts in accordance with technical specification and reconditions or replaces parts as necessary.
May be called on to perform other tasks as assigned.
May be required to review and/or certify the work performed by another for which he/she is certified to perform.
May be required to train/mentor lower grade employees.
Minimum Salary: $24.72 per hour
Maximum Salary: $28.80 per hour
