Job summary

Insight Global in Waco, TX is seeking multiple Aircraft Electrical Design Engineers to join our Military Aircraft team. You will design and integrate electrical systems for aircraft and perform wiring, harness layouts, and interface testing.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in Electrical or related field, 5+ years in aerospace electrical design, and familiarity with Capital Harness, Teamcenter PLM, Jira, and FAA airworthiness standards. Active security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of aerospace/defense electrical design experience with Capital Harness.
• Ability to create and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness layouts.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with cable harness standards, FAA Part 23/25 or military airworthiness.
• Knowledge of Teamcenter PLM, Jira, and Visio; active Secret level clearance or higher.
• Experience with Bombardier Global aircraft is a plus.

Job Description

We are seeking multiple Aircraft Electrical Design Engineers to join their team in Waco, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for performing Electrical Engineering design for aircraft systems integration, including avionics upgrades and power distribution, in the Military Aircraft business area. In addition, you will also support ongoing aircraft systems modifications including electrical requirements application, design, integration, and test. Additional responsibilities include:

• Design and develop electrical systems using the Capital Harness tool, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
• Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness layouts.
• Perform electrical interface and power test planning & verification by test in both a lab and on aircraft, including troubleshooting and resolving interface issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and manufacturing teams, to ensure seamless integration of electrical designs.
• Conduct thorough reviews and validations of wiring diagrams, schematics, reports, etc. to ensure accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability.
• Provide technical support and guidance throughout the design and production phases.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, standards, and best practices related to electrical component design.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of directly related work experience in aerospace/defense electrical design, with extensive use of the Capital Harness tool.
• Proficiency in creating and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness layouts.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to cable harness design and manufacturing.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with FAA (Part 23 or 25) or military aircraft airworthiness design approach, certification process, and requirements
• Knowledge of Teamcenter PLM, Jira, Visio.
• Active Secret Security Clearance or higher
• Experience with Bombardier Global aircraft
