Job summary

Belcan Corporation in Blue Ash, Ohio is seeking a Designer/Drafter with at least 1 year of experience to create and set up fully defined models or drawings. The role focuses on aircraft engine hardware, test enabling hardware, or engine externals, with NX CAD proficiency preferred.

The ideal candidate will ensure form, fit and function, coordinate with project stakeholders, and contribute to the design package for client delivery. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of design and drafting experience.
• General knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and ASME Y14.5-2009.
• Proficient in CAD; NX preferred but other CAD software acceptable.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize by due dates.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Creates conceptual layouts and 3D designs using engineering requirements and standards.
• Coordinate with Project Manager/Senior Designer on technical design, budget and hours.
• Develop design packages for client issuance and finalize documentation.
• Prepare models and design documents such as specifications and lists.
• Ensure model compliance with standards and pass internal checks.
• Verify form, fit and function of components and assemblies.
• Assist training personnel when needed.
• Document agreements with other disciplines and client personnel.
• Collaborate with customers to resolve design issues and scope changes.
• Identify design scope changes and assess impacts.
