Job summary

Belcan is seeking a Designer/Drafter in the Blue Ash, Ohio area. The role requires at least 1 year of design and drafting experience and involves creating fully defined models or drawings for aircraft engine hardware, test enabling hardware, or engine externals.

Coordinate with project teams to plan design work, ensure compliance with standards, and prepare the design package for client delivery. The position may involve training others and documenting designs with cross-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of design and drafting experience.
• General knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5-2009.
• Proficient with CAD; NX preferred, other CAD acceptable.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize based on deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create conceptual layouts and 3D designs using requirements and standards.
• Coordinate with Project Manager/Senior Designer on technical design, budget and hours.
• Develop and finalize design package for client release.
• Prepare models and design documents such as specifications and materials.
• Ensure models meet customer and industry standards and pass internal checks.
• Verify form, fit and function of components and assemblies.
• Assist in training personnel as needed.
• Document agreements with other disciplines and client personnel.
• Collaborate with customers to resolve design issues and document scope changes.
