Job summary

The Inland Group of Companies is hiring for an Aircraft Deicer at DSM in Des Moines, IA. This part-time seasonal role involves applying deicing fluid, inspecting for ice, and supporting safe aircraft operations on the ramp. Multiple shifts are available with a $20.00 per hour wage.

You will work outdoors in varying weather, complete required training, and follow airline and company safety procedures. Benefits and advancement opportunities are described during the interview process.

Qualifications

• Read, understand and follow instructions in English.
• Complete IDS classroom and on-the-job deicing/anti-icing training.
• Demonstrate basic/intermediate computer skills and maintain confidentiality.
• Communicate professionally with employees and client representatives.
• Able to speak and hear effectively in a safety-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities

• Valid driver's license and ability to pass required background screening and airport security clearance.
• Follow company and airline safety procedures during deicing and anti-icing operations.
• Apply deicing fluid and inspect aircraft for ice and frozen contamination.
• Complete pre-operation checks of trucks and equipment; refuel or replenish glycol as needed.
• Follow proper pad and equipment shutdown procedures.
• Complete required paperwork and logbooks; report equipment maintenance issues.

Position Overview

The Deicer removes ice from aircraft by applying deicing fluid and inspecting aircraft for ice or remaining frozen contamination. This role follows airline and company procedures to support safe aircraft operations.
Location: DSM - 5912 Fleur Dr., Des Moines, IA 50312

Essential Duties And Responsibilities (Including But Not Limited To)

Additional Info

• Travel: No travel is anticipated.
• Direct reports: None.
• Physical requirements: Prolonged standing outdoors in varying weather and around dust, fuel, fumes, noise, heavy equipment and moving vehicles. Must be able to bend, kneel, crawl, climb ladders and work at heights over 15 feet; use hands and arms to handle tools and controls; and meet required vision, hearing and communication demands.
