Aircraft Composite Technician 2nd Shift - DAS Aviation

Join us as an Aircraft Composite Technician 2nd Shift at West Star Aviation, LLC.

Position Details

2nd shift schedule: Monday-Thursday, 2pm-12am. The shift includes a 10%-15% premium incentive, paid lunch, 3-day weekends, and potential transfer to 1st shift as needed.

Role Responsibilities

As a Composite Technician, you will repair parts/components using "Wet Layup" and "Prepreg" techniques. Some repairs require a clean room environment and curing in autoclaves or controlled ovens. Bonding methods include co-curing, co-bonding, secondary bonding, and metal bonding with adhesives or films.

Key Functions
  • Use close tolerance measuring tools (scales, micrometers, calipers, etc.).
  • Operate hand tools (drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, etc.).
  • Perform alignment/assembly with jigs, templates, and fixtures.
  • Use PPE during cutting, grinding, blending, and sanding.
  • Handle bagging materials for various component shapes.
  • Operate "Hot-Bonder" curing machines.
  • Maintain and repair shop facilities, equipment, and tooling.
  • Operate shop equipment such as curing ovens, autoclaves, and vacuum systems.
  • Utilize basic computer skills for training, manuals, and databases.
  • Communicate effectively in English (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
