Job summary

SKT, Inc. seeks a fully independent aviation repair technician capable of troubleshooting and mentoring. This role performs maintenance and alteration tasks on civil and government aviation articles per current FAA data, service bulletins, and directives.

Requires strong knowledge of aircraft systems and ability to work with minimal supervision. The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years of experience, and be able to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of three years as an aviation repair technician or similar role is required.
  • Ability to satisfy a background investigation to obtain a security clearance is required.
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license desired.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft component systems.
  • Proven independent production ability.
  • Excellent paperwork accuracy.
  • Minimal supervision required to perform assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical functions as required in a repair station setting.
  • Must possess an excellent command of the English language with ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • In accordance with FAA Part 121 regulations, this position requires participation in a Department of Transportation (DOT) approved drug-testing program.

Job description

Fully independent aviation repair technician capable of troubleshooting and mentoring. Personnel performing maintenance functions report to the Lead Technician and are responsible for performing maintenance and alteration tasks on civil and government aviation articles in accordance with current technical data provided in the manufacturer’s instruction for continued airworthiness, service bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.

A sample of work this position performs includes but is not limited to:
  • Advanced troubleshooting
  • Complex repairs
  • Solid functional testing abilities
  • Able to identify manual discrepancies
  • Properly record all work performed on the appropriate maintenance record.
  • Promote, execute,and adhere to the company’s safety program

Education

The testing will be conducted by a drug-testing laboratory that is certified by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), under the National Laboratory Certification Program.
