Position Summary:

The Aircraft Assembler is responsible for the assembly, installation, and repair of sheet metal parts and structures for aircraft. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure the correct fit, alignment, and functionality of components.

Requirements:
  • Must have experience in the aviation industry.
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, with the ability to read and comprehend English.
  • Must be able to master the use of pneumatic tools, electrical bonding equipment, measuring devices, and torquing equipment.
  • Must be able to use tools such as scales, protrusion gages, fastener grip gages, calipers, micrometers, trulok gages, go-no-go gages, ball gages, fastener height gages, torque wrenches, pistol and/or pancake kaynar guns, torque screw guns, and understand all calibration requirements.
  • Must be able to use drilling devices like pistol grip drill motors, 90- and 45-degree angle motors, Winslow guns, or Spacematic (power feed), and set up countersinks.
  • Must be able to drill holes true and round, maintain 2-degree angularity, determine edge distance, pitch distance, equal distance spacing, and differentiate hole requirements for interference, transition, and clearance fasteners.
  • Must be able to install fasteners (wet or dry) such as button head, flush hilok/hilite, castellated nuts, button head/flush rivets, blind rivets, jo-bolts, and distinguish between shear/tension fasteners.
  • Must be able to use alodine (1132 pen), touch-up paint, topcoat/clear coat.
  • Must be able to use shop floor operating systems, understand drawings and blueprints, follow planning requirements, and have basic computer operating skills.
  • Must be able to perform sealing processes including fay surface, fillet, pack, aero, brush coat, and dome sealing.
