Job summary

Southwest Airlines Co. is seeking an Aircraft Appearance Technician to keep planes clean and ready for flight. The role involves cleaning the interior and exterior, replacing seat covers when needed, and moving equipment around hangars and ramps. Team members work in shifts with safety as a top priority.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver's license, and the ability to obtain a SIDA badge. The position offers union-based pay and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. Driver's License.
• Ability to obtain a SIDA badge and meet local airport requirements.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to adverse weather and aircraft noise.
• Must be able to communicate information in writing and verbally.
• Must be able to operate forklift and tug after training.
• Must be able to climb ladders and stand for long periods during aircraft cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, washing, and polishing the interior and exterior of airplanes and related equipment.
• Replacement of aircraft seat covers and aisle rugs during service checks.
• Driving of motor vehicles when necessary to move equipment.
• Carry out safety and/or security initiatives as directed by Southwest Airlines or the FAA.
• Meet physical ability requirements and be able to perform other duties as directed by Leaders.
