Job summary

Department of the Air Force Headquarters seeks an AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SPECIALIST (TERMINAL) to provide VFR air traffic control services near airports and in the control tower environment. You will manage aircraft movements to ensure safe, orderly flow and respond to advisories and weather information.

Applicants should be prepared to maintain certification and contribute to airfield operations, with formal responsibilities defined by the National Airspace System.

Qualifications

• Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and/or part-time work.
• Volunteer work experience is recognized and can translate to paid employment.
• You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides visual flight rules (VFR) air traffic control services to aircraft in the vicinity of an airport or on the airfield movement area.
• Controls military and civilian aircraft under VFR in a control tower environment.
• Observes and reports airport advisories, weather information, and equipment outages; maintains certification requirements.
