Job summary

Odyssey is seeking a Test Engineer for Air-to-Air and Air-to-Surface testing to support the 780th Test Squadron under TMAS III at Eglin AFB, FL. This onsite, full‑time role involves conducting tests of airborne systems and coordinating with multiple DoD stakeholders.

Preferred candidates will have DoD test experience, strong communication and writing skills, and a background in fighter/bomber systems. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Clearance: Active Secret or higher with SAP eligibility.
  • Education: Master’s degree in engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience (years may substitute for degree).
  • Ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders and manage competing test resources.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Establish standards for test documentation and technical reporting.
  • Provide technical review of test directives, methods of test, data packages, and reports.
  • Present test strategy and procedures to leadership at safety and test boards.
  • Manage engineering duties for test and evaluation of major programs (A/A and A/S).
  • Develop test planning documentation for emerging weapon programs.
  • Provide range of technical and administrative support to the Flight Chief.
  • Brief/debrief aircrew on mission requirements and execution.
  • Serve as Test Conductor during test mission execution.
