Job description

Total Safety is seeking an Air Technician II to join their safety-conscious team. The role involves quality workmanship in cleaning, calibrating, and repairing various gas monitoring, water/moisture content measuring, and breathing equipment.

Essential Duties:
  1. Perform inspection, cleaning, servicing, reassembling, and testing of respiratory and breathing air equipment following approved procedures.
  2. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of regulators, reducers, and high/low-pressure manifolds.
  3. Inspect systems, report deficiencies, and recommend repairs or replacements, including customer quotes.
  4. Complete documentation and data entry accurately for inspections and repairs, including invoicing and customer signatures.
  5. Train less experienced technicians and customers on equipment use and care.
  6. Assist in facility tasks such as stocking, staging, loading customer orders, and maintaining a clean work environment.
  7. Perform basic maintenance on assigned vehicles or trailers.
Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum two years of field experience in fire protection, petrochemical, oil refinery, or related industry.
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, safe driving record, and insurability for company insurance.
  • Forklift experience and certification preferred; willingness to travel for short and long-term projects.
  • Class C driver’s license with DOT hazardous endorsement if required.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot electronic safety equipment, meet quality standards, and adhere to regulatory standards (OSHA, NFPA, Coast Guard, etc.).
  • Proficiency in basic math and PPE use, including respiratory protection certification.
  • Ability to work in a team and assume additional responsibilities as needed.
Working Environment:
  • Shop and yard environments with exposure to weather, chemicals, high pressure, and noise. Some customer site work during training.
Educational Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED; technical, associate, or military training preferred.
