The Commercial Engines Air Systems Design & Integration (ASDI) organization is seeking a driven engineering intern for summer 2027 to join our team at the East Hartford, CT campus. ASDI offers a unique opportunity to work at the heart of the engine system. Our discipline defines the physical and functional requirements that shape internal and external air system architectures, including system cooling and sealing flows, bearing load management, risk assessment and mitigation, and clearance control.
Success in this dynamic discipline is essential to delivering a competitive propulsion system. ASDI engineers develop a broad, system‑level perspective-understanding how design, air systems, thermal environments, mechanical loads, engine performance and control strategies interact across the entire engine. This discipline requires seamless integration with adjacent system disciplines, close collaboration with module centers and part owners, and a strong aptitude for multidisciplinary problem‑solving. It offers an exceptional opportunity to apply and grow systems‑engineering skills while influencing the design and performance of a complex engine architecture.
