Job summary

HDR is seeking an Air Quality Specialist in the United States (Minneapolis area) to review regulations, develop emission inventories, and prepare permit applications for various sources. You will coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies to support permitting projects and deliver technically sound documents.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences or related field, proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Meteorology or closely related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • May require the ability to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Review federal, state, and local regulations to provide air permit applicability determinations.
  • Analyze data provided by clients to develop air emission inventories.
  • Prepare air quality permit application documents on behalf of sources, and coordinate between clients and regulatory agencies to assist permitting projects.
  • Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of deliverable documents.
  • Perform routine technical assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures for calculating potential/actual emissions or estimating air dispersion modeled impacts.
  • Work independently on small projects or assist senior personnel on larger air quality projects.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
