Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or closely related scientific field.
  • Zero to 2 years of experience solving environmental problems, calculating air quality emissions, and interpreting permits or environmental regulations.
  • Previous experience in air quality permitting and compliance consulting is a plus.
  • Technical writing skills and experience writing comprehensive technical reports.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and PDF software.
  • Ability to visit industrial and manufacturing facilities.
  • Excellent proofreading and writing skills.
  • Logical and methodical problem solving.
  • Effective time management of multiple project tasks.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of budgets and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • Proactive in seeking work tasks.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Complete tasks supporting air quality-related frameworks, compliance reporting, permitting, and stakeholder communication
  • Provide technical understanding related to regulatory requirements, compliance obligations, and voluntary frameworks
  • Interact with project team members to prepare and submit client deliverables, including greenhouse gas emissions reports and air quality permits
  • Utilize air quality reporting and software tools such as ProMax
  • Assist clients with compliance and voluntary air quality reporting programs
  • Work proactively with SLR project managers to maintain a sustainable workload
  • Travel for short durations to visit project locations and attend meetings
  • With appropriate experience, temporarily work as an SLR representative in a client office
