Job description

KERAMIDA is hiring an Air Permitting and Compliance Project Manager for our EHS Compliance team. This is a mid-level position with a clear professional progression: individuals typically advance to Senior Project Manager after showcasing technical expertise, project management acumen, and strong client rapport.

You will serve as the day-to-day lead on one of KERAMIDA's key client accounts, directing air quality permitting, reporting, and ongoing compliance management for a client with multiple Title V and minor source permits in multiple states. You will also work with KERAMIDA colleagues on the client's multimedia compliance projects spanning stormwater, wastewater, and solid and hazardous waste. You will review deliverables for technical accuracy, manage project budgets and schedules, maintain and grow the existing client relationship, and mentor junior staff as they build their own compliance expertise.

Established in 1988 and headquartered in Indianapolis, KERAMIDA is a WBE-certified environmental engineering, EHS, and sustainability consulting firm with more than 150 professionals across the United States. We take pride in technical excellence and superior service, advising industrial, commercial, and public-sector clients on environmental compliance, remediation, health and safety, and sustainability.

KERAMIDA offers excellent benefits and a competitive compensation program that rewards performance and results. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. KERAMIDA is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.

Duties
  • Serve as the primary technical and account lead for a key KERAMIDA client, managing the scope, quality, and responsiveness of all work performed for the account.
  • Maintain ongoing client relationships and clear, constant communication with clients regarding their compliance obligations.
  • Interpret regulations and manage the client's compliance across multiple environmental media and regulatory programs.
  • Manage overall compliance for multiple Title V (Part 70) and minor source operating permits, including annual compliance certifications, semiannual monitoring and deviation reports, emissions inventories, and compliance monitoring and recordkeeping programs.
  • Conduct on-site visits at industrial client facilities to understand compliance needs and verify compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Review work produced by junior staff and manage overall regulatory, client, and schedule requirements.
  • Stay current on developments in environmental regulation, science, and sustainability practice.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • 5 to 10 years of air permitting and compliance experience, preferably in an industrial or consulting setting
  • Demonstrated experience managing compliance for Title V operating permits
  • Experience preparing air permit applications, including emissions calculations and regulatory applicability determinations
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental/civil engineering, or a related field (Required)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and clients at all levels
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client communication
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history
Preferred Qualifications
  • Indiana air permitting experience, including familiarity with IDEM Office of Air Quality programs and 326 IAC requirements
  • PE, CHMM, CPEA, QEP, or other relevant credential(s)
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior technical staff
  • Experience developing proposals and managing key client accounts
