Job summary

Federal Screening Careers is seeking Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial flights and safeguard the nation’s transportation system. The role requires discretion, physical readiness, and firearms proficiency, with frequent domestic and international travel and irregular schedules.

Applicants must meet basic eligibility, possess a bachelor’s degree or higher (or equivalent combination of education and experience), and be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience demonstrating problem-solving, planning, organization, and effective written and verbal communication.
• A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or
• A qualifying combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience.
• Transcripts may be required for education qualification.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity, aircraft piracy, and other criminal threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess developing situations and respond to potential threats with limited backup.
• Carry a firearm and maintain firearms proficiency for federal duties.
• Conduct law enforcement, investigative, analytical, and advisory activities.
• Identify and interview witnesses or suspects as required.
• Make arrests and execute warrants within legal authority.
• Participate in multi-agency operations with federal, state, and local partners.
• Support ground-based transportation-security and counterterrorism missions.
