Job summary

Stefanini, Inc is seeking an Air Intake Systems Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI on a contract basis to design, develop, and validate air intake components for ICE and hybrid vehicles. You will work with CAD/CAE, prototypes, and testing to meet system-level objectives.

Key responsibilities include coordinating design, documentation, supplier management, and DFMEA/DVP&R processes, with occasional on-site plant support and travel as needed to supplier locations and production facilities.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years in air intake systems or related engine/vehicle testing.
• Experience with plastics manufacturing and tooling (injection/blow molding).
• Experience leading suppliers and coordinating milestones.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate CAD design, CAE, prototyping, and testing.
• Document design, analysis, prototyping, and testing activities.
• Support sourcing activities and supplier progress tracking.
• Apply DFMEA and DVP&Rs to minimize risk.
• Provide on-site support at engine/vehicle plants as needed.
• Support quality concerns after vehicle launch.
• Validate process changes.
• Support cost-reduction and value-optimization activities.
