Job summary

CEVA Logistics is seeking a coordinator to manage the movement of export shipments. You will be the primary contact among customers, customs brokers and carriers to ensure smooth operations from pickup to delivery.

You will handle documentation, invoicing checks, and timely communication about delays while maintaining compliance with regulations and internal procedures.

Qualifications

  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to generate complex, error-free charts, graphs, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and volumes.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
  • Ability to handle problems with several variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the movement of export shipments and act as main contact.
  • Liaise between customers, customs brokers and shipping carriers.
  • Review freight documents, assess charges and respond to inquiries.
  • Notify consignees of delays and provide PODs when requested.
  • Ensure accuracy of invoices, bills of lading and shipping statements.

YOUR ROLE

Coordinate the movement of our customers' export shipments. You will be the main point of contact for coordination between customers shipment exports, customs brokers, and shipping carriers.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
  • Receives freight, documentation and waybills; assesses charges; and collects fees for shipments. Opens a file on the dedicated software system for each shipment received.Responds to inquiries by fax, e-mail or telephone.
  • Negotiates with domestic customers, as intermediary for foreign customers, to resolve problems and arrive at mutual agreements.
  • Examine invoices and shipping manifests for conformity to tariff and customs regulations.
  • Contact customs officials to affect release of incoming freight and resolve customs delays.
  • Itemizes charges, prepares freight bills, accepts payments and issues refunds.
  • Notifies consignees of delays in departure of shipment. Provides PODs to shippers if requested.
  • Examine documents such as invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements, to verify conversion of merchandise weights or volumes into systems used by other countries.
  • Converts foreign currency figures into United States monetary equivalents, or domestic currency into foreign equivalents.
  • Calculates duties or tariffs to be paid on merchandise.
  • Correspond with foreign companies.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education and Experience:

  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to generate complex, error-free charts, graphs, spreadsheets, and presentations
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
