Job Summary

The Cargo Warehouse Ramp Supervisor is responsible for overseeing marshaling, pushing back aircraft, operating ground service equipment (GSE), loading and unloading cargo on and off aircraft, transporting cargo between the warehouse and aircraft, and handling freight and company material at the warehouse. The role includes building up and breaking down cargo safely within required timeframes, completing necessary paperwork, and ensuring on‑time departures for both aircraft and trucks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Proactively monitor the work of assigned employees to ensure customer satisfaction, safety, security, quality, and employee relations meet or exceed standards.
  • Maintain and control all required aspects of the operation in accordance with the corporate security program and TSA legislation.
  • Ensure required company audit requirements are undertaken to maintain continuity and compliance.
  • Implement the site‑specific security plan and issue and require relevant company ID badges for all staff.
  • Administer practices fairly and equitably, treating all employees, customers, vendors, and third parties with respect.
  • Manage cargo warehousing, including receiving, dispatching, and staging airfreight, airmail, and other cargo at air freight docks.
  • Operate motorized vehicles related to cargo operations.
  • Maintain routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, equipment, and facilities.
  • Perform other duties and functions related to the foregoing.
Physical Demands

Perform bending, squatting, kneeling, walking, climbing, and reaching from ground level to overhead. Push, pull, lift, and carry objects up to 70 pounds in and out of aircraft cargo spaces or onto conveyor belts. Ascend to a height of 40 feet for de‑icing aircraft. Respond to audio transmitted information or alarms and distinguish colors for aircraft lighting. Stand for long periods.

Work Environment

Work both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to extreme weather, dust, pollen, chemicals, toxic waste, mechanical, electrical, fuel hazards, and strong odors. Operate in high noise environments and potentially at night. Possible exposure to disease from aircraft lavatory work.

Other Requirements and Qualifications
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Perform basic arithmetic calculations, including rates, percentages, and interpreting bar graphs.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Work comfortably in a high‑noise environment.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Use independent judgment to set priorities.
  • Handle stress.
  • Lift at least 70 pounds.
  • Report to work on a regular and timely basis.
  • Preferred: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school.
  • Preferred: 1 year of management experience and 1 year in cargo within the aviation industry.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Work overnights, weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), holidays, and days off.
