Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a dedicated Ramp Agent to load and unload mail, baggage, and freight, transport cargo between terminals, and perform ramp transfers at our Miami area operations.

Responsibilities include reading off-load sheets, complying with security procedures, and reporting suspicious activity. Candidates must lift up to 70 lbs, work rotating shifts, and maintain punctual attendance in a high-noise environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and days off.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to work in all weather and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise.
• Ability to distinguish red, green, and yellow.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to work in a high-noise environment.
• Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings.
• Ability to judge distances and use depth perception.
• Ability to communicate successfully with others.
• Ability to confront and question unauthorized personnel in secured areas.
• This job requires joining the Transport Workers Union and paying union dues under the collective bargaining agreement

Responsibilities

• Load and unload mail, express, baggage, freight, and company material on and off aircraft.
• Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft.
• Perform ramp transfers of cargo where required.
• Receive, deliver, and physically handle freight, company material, export cargo, mail, and baggage.
• Complete forms and messages necessary for assigned functions.
• Comply with WFS site security procedures.
• Monitor and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, and non-compliance.
• Position loaded containers on rollers with or alongside aircraft.
• Drive vehicles and transport cargo with attached carts through congested aircraft areas.
• Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations.
• Confront and report unauthorized personnel in secured areas.
• Report to work regularly and punctually.
